Insomniac Games dropped a pretty Wolverine ass Wolverine trailer during Sony’s State of Play on September 24th 2025. This game looks brutal and visceral. Two words synonymous with Marvel’s furry little Canadian. Check out the brief trailer below.
That’s nuts, bub. I watched, flinched, and loved the trailer. It kickstarted my nerd brain and had me thinking about all the great Wolverine media that exists that needs to be consumed prior to experiencing this game. With that, welcome to Read, Play, Watch, Collect.

There are countless Wolverine stories for you to read out there. If I were to pick one for you to jump into is Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.’s Wolverine: Enemy of the State. I’ll keep spoilers to a minimum, but the gist is, what if the X-Men had to hunt a brainwashed Wolverine. Logan as a full on killing machine, being hunted by SHIELD, the X-Men, and a set number of villains, makes for an incredible action adventure story. The art is great and the writing is superb. Go grab a physical copy and cozy up.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Take advantage of the time before Insomniac’s Wolverine hits shelves and play X-Men Origins: Wolverine. What an incredible game tied to a not-so-incredible film. Raven Software crafted the literal definition of a hack-and-slash game, putting Logan at the helm, in all his bloody glory. The game featured a healing factor for Wolverine showing the damage to his body healing in real time. You can lose hours just getting Wolverine all jacked up and zooming in to watch his flesh return to his bones. The game also kept you on the hook by locking the iconic yellow spandex behind the ending. It’s currently delisted so a physical used copy is your best bet. If you can find one, I highly recommend.

Deadpool & Wolverine
In the 20+ years Hugh Jackman played Wolverine, this is the most comic accurate portrayl of the character. Not just in his main version you follow through the story, but in every random version Deadpool visits on his journey to find the nexus Wolvie. From the Days of Future past version, to Patch, Deadpool & Wolverine gives fans a full dose of all the Wolverine you need. Not to mention the violent brawl between the titular “heroes”.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine
As a Marvel comic book character, there are so many Wolverine ‘things’ in the world for you to collect. Comics, figures, statues, movies, you name it. Here, we picked cards. The Fleer Ultra Wolverine Hobby Box to be exact. This series from 2024 is chock full of cards specifically tailored to Wolverine. In the packs, you’ll find classic Logan team-ups, his villains, story arcs, cards with claw marks through them, “Adamantium Cards” and a ton more. Take a look at one of the pack rips below.
